This 40,266 SF first-generation interior buildout was designed for UroTuning, a Tampa-based internet retailer of top-quality performance auto parts for European cars. They desired a sleek, contemporary distribution facility representative of their high-performance brand. The administrative and office component features an open work environment for their web marketing, customer service, and sales teams as well as private offices, a photography room, collaborative break area, and a large executive office for the company founder. The remainder of the facility is dedicated to warehouse, fulfillment, and distribution. Literal and metaphoric inspiration came from automotive forms. The use of curved walls evokes vehicular silhouettes and hexagonal elements mimic front grills. The staggered offset linear pendant fixtures and round black pendants are reminiscent of tread marks and tires. The neutral gray palette provides the background for the tenant’s colorful automotive artwork, posters, and framed t-shirts from past company sponsored events.
